Precourt Angling Adventures’ specializes in planning, hosting and guiding unique fishing trips.  We make angling experiences more enjoyable by providing comfortable lodging, reliable ground transportation and delicious meals by local cooks and chefs.  We use well tested lodges and accommodations, and fishing guides can be provided as a part of the arrangements.  We strive to make your expedition experience an enjoyable one.  We look forward to doing this for you and your angling friends.

About your Travel Host

Doug Precourt loves fishing, especially fly-fishing and has been involved in the sport for several decades.  He has spent many hours fishing in both fresh and salt water locations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and the Carribean.
Among his angling accomplishments are the following:

• Certified Angling Instructor by the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA)

• Pure Fishing Select Angler Program Team member (Pure Fishing is a subsidiary of the Jarden Corporation and includes the brands Fenwick, Pflueger, Berkeley, Shakespeare, Trilene, Penn, Abu Garcia, Stren Mitchell, Johnson, Spiderwire and many others)

• March Brown Travel Fly Rod Pro Team member

• Work for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA):

• National Fishing Task Force member

• Chairman – Fly-Fishing Merit Badge Creation Team (2001) and Revisions (2006)

• Chairman – Fishing Merit Badge Revisions Teams (2000, 2006)

• BSA Field Book (fishing section) revision team member (2002)

• Featured in Robert J. Sousa’s book “The 24 Greatest Flies (You don’t want to leave home without)” which was published by Husking Bee Books, Warren, RI (2010)100_0324

• Authored “Fishing with Baden-Powell; Stories of the Chief Scout and his love of Angling” published in The American Fly Fisher, Journal of the American Museum of Fly Fishing (Fall 1999, Volume 25, Number 4).  This led to two important developments:

  • Creation of the new Fly Fishing Merit Badge by the BSA
  • Induction of Robert S. S. Baden-Powell into the IGFA’s Fishing Hall of Fame (Baden-Powell was the English Army General who conceived and began the world-wide Scouting movement)

Doug resides in the Colorado metro area with his family.
